  • How do I enter my pet?

    To enter Cute Pet SA please complete the simple 2 step process.

    Step 1: Complete the entry form. Upload your pet’s details, their most flattering selfie, and tell us what makes them so adorable.

    Step 2: Register an account. You now have access to our exciting new dashboard.

    Voila! Your fur-baby is entered into the next month’s competition.

    Cute Pet SA will contact you via email and SMS on day one of the competition with instructions on how to vote and other important details.

  • How many pets I can I enter?

    You may enter up to 4 fur-babies using one entry form.

    If you would like to enter more than 1 pet, we recommend that you enter all your pets as 1 entry. Simply upload a photo of them posing together and give a brief desciption.

    If you would like to enter them separately then you are welcome to do so. We then recommend that you enter the other pet(s) in an upcoming competition so they don't compete against each other.

  • Can I enter Cute Pet SA if I have won previously?

    No person or persons sharing the same residential address may win more than one (1) prize valued at R1,000 or greater in a six-month period. This six-month exclusion period includes our Voter’s Prize and applies to all our competitions, namely: Cute Baby SA, Cute Kid SA, Cute Pet SA, Super Cute SA, and Cute Couple SA.

    If you have not won more than R1,000 in the last six (6) months and should you wish to enter Cute Pet SA again, please note that votes from previous competitions will not be carried over to the current competition. You will also get a new unique voting ID for each new month’s competition that you enter.

  • What prizes are on offer?

    Cute Pet SA gives away R20,000 at the end of each monthly competition. There are cash prizes for the Top 3 winners plus a Voter’s Prize for one lucky registered voter.

    Cute Pet’s monthly competition winners are determined by the number of votes each pet receives.

    First place gets R10,000 in cash. Second place wins R5,000 in cash. Third place receives R3,000 in cash. One registered voter walks away with a R2,000 cash prize. Plus, R5,000 goes to a worthy animal charity.

    Please note: Cash prizes will be paid into South African bank accounts only. Proof of your identity and the validity of your bank account are required before the release of any cash prize.

  • How do I vote via SMS?

    There are 3 ways to vote via SMS.

    Send your unique voting ID to 42037 for five (5) votes (Cost R2.00; R0.40/vote).

    Example: pa201234 to 42037

    Send your unique voting ID to 38636 for forty (40) votes (Cost R10.00; R0.25/vote).

    Example: pa201234 to 38636

    Send your unique voting ID to 42033 for one hundred and fifty (150) votes (Cost R30.00; R0.20/vote).

    Example: pa201234 to 42033

    Please note: The 3 short-codes used to vote via SMS in Cute Pet SA, i.e., 42037, 38636, and 42033 are managed by our short-code provider. When you vote via 42037, 38636, and 42033, your mobile network provider will charge you accordingly, then deliver confirmation to our short-code provider. Cute Pet SA then sends you a “thank-you” SMS confirming receipt of your votes.

    Free and bundled SMS do not apply. Errors will be billed and cannot be reversed. Do not include any extra characters, words or phrases. Please ensure you get bill payer's permission. SMS voting available subject to your mobile phone settings, contract limits and monthly limits may apply. The promoters support and encourage responsible voting.

    SMS voting is not available on FNB Connect.

  • How do I vote via credit card?

    There are 3 ways to vote via credit card.

    Select the pet you wish to vote for and navigate to their unique link. In the 'How to Vote' box click on Purchase > Debit / Credit Card.

    Select your preferred voting bundle option:

    A 250-vote bundle option (Cost R50.00; R0.20/vote).

    A 1250-vote bundle option (Cost R200.00; R0.16/vote).

    A 5000-vote bundle option (Cost R500.00; R0.10/vote).

     

    Please note: All credit card payments are processed securely via Peach Payments. Also, you will not receive SMS notifications of successful credit card votes. However, entrants can check and monitor all votes received using our interactive dashboard, provided they have registered and are logged in when the transaction was done.

  • How do I vote via Zapper?

    There are 3ways to vote via Zapper.

    Download the Zapper app to your mobile phone. Now follow the Zapper instructions to add a bank card to the app.

    Select the pet you wish to vote for and navigate to their unique link. In the 'How to Vote' box click on Purchase > Zapper.

    Select your preferred voting bundle option:

    A 250-vote bundle option (Cost R50.00; R0.20/vote).

    A 1250-vote bundle option (Cost R200.00; R0.16/vote).

    A 5000-vote bundle option (Cost R500.00; R0.10/vote).

    Now press the QR code. You will then be redirected to the Zapper app to complete your transaction.

    Please note: Zapper voting is only available on mobile devices. Also, you will not receive SMS notifications of successful Zapper votes. However, entrants can check and monitor all votes received using our interactive dashboard, provided they have registered and are logged in when the transaction was done.

    Please don't share the QR code as each transaction will need to follow the above steps to ensure the votes are allocated correctly.

  • How do I vote via PayPal?

    There are 3 ways to vote via PayPal.

    Select the pet you wish to vote for and navigate to their unique link. In the 'How to Vote' box click on Purchase > PayPal.

    Select your preferred voting bundle option:

    A 250-vote bundle option (Cost USD3.99; USD0.02/vote).

    A 1250-vote bundle option (Cost USD12.99; USD0.01/vote).

    A 5000-vote bundle option (Cost USD34.99; USD0.01/vote).

     

    Please note: PayPal transactions are charged in US Dollars. Exchange rates and transaction fees will apply to other foreign currencies (i.e., ZAR, GBP, EUR etc.).

    Also, you will not receive SMS notifications of successful PayPal votes. However, entrants can check and monitor all votes received using our interactive dashboard, provided they have registered and are logged in when the transaction was done.

  • How do I vote for free?

    To access your 10 FREE daily votes, ensure you are logged onto your Cute Pet SA account. Select the pet you wish to vote for and navigate to their unique link. In the 'Vote' box click on Free Votes. Then click on 'Vote Now'.

    10 Free votes will be applied to your selected entrant.

    Parents of pet participants can also invite friends, family, and colleagues to vote daily for free. They don’t have to enter the competition or even know the pet to cast a vote for the pet they feel is the cutest of them all. However, they will need to register first and follow the procedure described above to access their 10 FREE daily votes.

  • How do I access and apply my bonus codes?

    From time to time Cute Pet SA sends out free bonus codes which can be applied on the Cute Pet SA for FREE votes.

    To redeem a Cute Pet SA bonus code:

    Log onto www.cutepet.co.za. Select the pet you wish to vote for and navigate to their unique link. In the 'Vote'  box click on Redeem Bonus.

    Paste or type the bonus code (as it appears) into the box and click on Apply. Your bonus vote will be automatically assigned to your selected pet.

    Please note, you will only be able to use them once. You can pass them on to friends and family who also have an account but we limit the amount of times they can be used so hurry before they are all used up!

  • Can I vote for my own pet?

    Yes, you can vote for your own pet as many times as you wish. However, the point is not how many votes you can cast for your own pet, but to share your pet’s entry with others. The more time you spend spreading the message to friends, family, and colleagues, the more votes your pet is likely to receive. So, rather focus on getting your fur-kid’s Cute Pet profile out there via email, WhatsApp, and social media, etc.

    Cute Pet SA supports and encourages responsible voting.

  • I am receiving an ‘Oops entrant is not recognised’ SMS reply after voting.

    If you receive an SMS response message from us with the following message ‘Oops, we didn’t recognise the entrant you are voting for or you are voting incorrectly. Please refer to cutepet.co.za. Errors will be billed.’ it means you are voting in the incorrect format.

    Please ensure you vote in the correct format, as below:

    For five (5) vote, type the unique voting ID number and send message to 42037. (Eg: pa1201234 to 42037) (Cost R2.00)

    For forty (40) votes, type the unique voting ID number and send message to 38636. (Eg: pa1201234 to 38636) (Cost R10.00)

    For one hundred & fifty (150) votes, type the unique voting ID number and send message to 42033. (Eg: pa1201234 to 42133) (Cost R30.00)

    Some common problems that can result in error messages include:

    Adding a space(s) first before entering your unique voting ID (sometimes this happens when you copy and paste).

    Adding other extra characters, words, or phrases.

    Using an invalid voting ID or using a unique voting ID from one of our other competitions.

    Because it is not obvious that you have inadvertently included a space or spaces when viewing your mobile phone screen, it is better to start a new SMS message when submitting your unique voting ID.

    SMS voting is not available on FNB Connect.

    Please note that errors will be billed and cannot be reversed.

    Cute Pet SA will do it's best to manually allocate these votes to the correct entrant throughout the competition. However, the responsiblity remains with the voter to vote in the correct format.

  • All SMS Voting Problems

    SMS voting is not available on the FNB Connect network.

    Free and bundled SMS packages do not apply

    All votes cast by SMS will receive an SMS response message from Cute Pet SA confirming receipt and confirming the number of votes cast.

    If you have not received an SMS response message after voting it could be for the following reasons. (Please note it could take at least 30 minutes to receive the response message).

    All votes are updated on our website at least 12 hours later.

    Reason 1. You are messaging to the incorrect short code. Please use either 42037 (Costs R2); 38636 (costs R10) or 42033 (costs R30)

    Reason 2. Ensure network coverage, phone settings and contract allows for sending Premium Rated SMS Services. (PRSMS). Google 'activate premium SMS service on my mobile device' for more details.

    Reason 3. Insufficient credit or message not sent. Ensure you are topped up with prepaid airtime (not data or SMS bundles). Some contracts don't allow access to PRSMS without using prepaid airtime.

    Reason 4: Network/Contract limits. If you have previously voted and received response SMS confirmations and now not receiving them then it is likely that your network or contract has a limit on how many premium rate SMS’s you can send during a month. Adjust your limit on your phone: Vodacom *135# MTN *136*5# Telkom dial 180.

    We would love to advise all voters on what the issue may be but unfortunately due to the fact there are so many networks, contracts and phones on the market we are simply unable to pinpoint what the issue may be. Your network will be able to advise accordingly.

  • I am a FNB Connect subscriber; can I vote?

    Unfortunately FNB Connect subscribers will not be able to vote via SMS as FNB Connect don't support premium rate SMS.

    However, you can still vote via credit card, PayPal, Zapper, free daily votes and bonus codes. And the good news is that these channels are the most cost-effective way to vote for your favourite fur-kids.

  • How do I find my pet’s photo?

    To find your pet’s photo on the Cute Pet SA website you can either:

    Use the search function on the current competition page https://www.cutepet.co.za

    OR

    If you have logged into your dashboard, click on the 3 dots on your pet's profile image, then select 'Profile'. You will be taken to your pet's profile page.

  • Can I change my pet’s photo?

    You can change your pet’s profile photo a maximum of three (3) times during the competition.

    To do so, please login to your Cute Pet SA account.

    Click on the My Profile tab.

    Select your pet’s name.

    You can now upload an alternative photo.

    Please note: All photos are subject to review by our team, so please allow up to 24 hours for the photo to be approved and displayed on your pet’s profile. You may need to refresh your browser or clear your internet cache to view the updated photo.

    If you have previously shared your Cute Pet profile’s unique URL on Facebook and wish to share it again once the new image is uploaded, please navigate to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/. Paste your Cute Pet profile’s unique URL here. Click on Debug and then on Scrape Again. You should now be able to share your Cute Pet profile’s unique URL on Facebook complete with the updated image.

  • How do I access my dashboard?

    When you first created your Cute Pet SA account and entered your pet into our monthly competition, you would have received an account activation email with your password, which is required to access your account. Your username is the email address you used when creating your account and entering your pet into the Cute Pet SA competition.

    If you have forgotten your password or did not receive the account activation email, please navigate to our account tab and click on Forgotten Password. Now check your email inbox (including the spam folder) for our newly sent account activation email and follow the instructions therein to access your Cute Pet SA account.

  • Where can I see how many votes my pet has received?

    To see your pet’s voting report, please login to your Cute Pet SA account.

    Click on the My Profile tab.

    Select your pet’s name.

    Then click on View Voting Report.

     

    Please note: Vote totals are updated every 12 hours. You will only be able to view your own pet’s total votes.

  • How does the Cute-Vote-O-Meter™ work?

    Every month we set the criteria for the Cute Vote-O-Meter™. Each level of the Cute Vote-O-Meter™ is shaded-in based on the number of votes obtained for that level. As you progress the harder it becomes to reach the next level, just to make things more fun.

     

    For example; you may only need ten (10) vote to make it to the first level, but one hundred (100) votes to reach the second level, and five hundred (500) votes to reach the third level, and so on. Do not expect to see a change in your Cute Vote-O-Meter™ reading every time you vote.

     

    Please Note: the Cute Vote-O-Meter™ is not the deciding factor when selecting the TOP 3 Cute Pet SA winners. And if all the blocks of your Cute Vote-O-Meter™ are completely shaded-in, it does not mean that your pet is a winner or even in the Top 3. It just means that your pet is doing well in the voting stakes.

     

    The TOP 3 Cute Pet SA winners are chosen based on the number of votes each has received during the entire month. The three (3) pets with the most votes at the end of the month are the TOP 3 Cute Pet SA winners.

     

    Please note: The Cute Vote-O-Meter™ is updated every 12 hours. Due to routine system maintenance and upgrades, you may be unable to view your Cute Vote-O-Meter™ from time to time.

  • How do the elimination rounds work?

    The Cute Pet SA competition includes two (2) eliminations rounds. We will inform you via email and SMS as to when these elimination rounds will be held. We also set voting criteria for each elimination round. For example, in the first elimination round we may eliminate pets with less than ten (10) votes.

    Entrants will be notified via email and SMS if their pet has made the elimination round or not, usually by 4pm on the day of the elimination. We suggest that you as well as your friends, family, and connections not to cast votes on the elimination day, until you have been notified about whether your pet has made it through or not.

    If your pet makes it through the first elimination round, all the votes they’ve gathered up until that point are carried through to the next round. It is entirely up to you if you wish to continue voting or not.

    If your pet doesn’t make it through the first or second elimination rounds (sorry about that, better luck next time), we will remove their picture from the Cute Pet SA site on the day of their elimination. In this case, please don’t continue to vote for your pet or encourage others to vote for your pet as these votes will not be counted. However, you may enter the following month’s competition if you wish.

  • When do you announce the winners?

    The Top 3 winners of each month’s Cute Pet SA competition are announced on the fifth (5th) day of the following month or on the next working day if the fifth (5th) day falls on a weekend or a public holiday. The Top 3 winners will be announced by 2pm on the day. The announcement will be broadcast on our Cute Pet SA winners page https://www.cutepet.co.za/winners/ and via our Facebook page.

    Cute Pet SA will also contact the Top 3 winners directly via phone or email within 24 hours of the announcement.

  • I have won a prize. When will I receive it?

    If you have won a prize, congratulations, we will notify you via phone or email. Prizes will be paid into your verified South African bank account within five (5) to ten (10) working days of your being notified and once your paperwork has been received.

    Please note: Cash prizes will be paid into South African bank accounts only. Proof of your identity and the validity of your bank account are required before the release of any cash prize.

    If you have won an online voucher or eGift, please be sure to check your spam folder.

  • Why don’t you use a panel of judges to decide the Cute Pet SA winner?

    Cute Pet SA is a monthly interactive competition rather than a subjective one. We feel that a panel of judges would be subjective when deciding the monthly winners. We prefer our monthly competition to be fun, interactive, and entertaining.

  • Is Cute Pet SA a scam?

    Cute Pet SA is most definitely not a scam. Entry is free and you don’t have to vote if you don’t wish to. We respect that and always strive to be transparent and upfront by giving you access to your pet’s voting data. However, in the interests of protecting you and your pet’s privacy, we don’t make your pet’s voting information public.

    We also adhere to the Code of Conduct as set out by the Wireless Application Services Providers’ Association (WASPA). There is no way to rig the Cute Pet SA competition and if we do discover that any of our participants is acting in an unlawful manner, his/her pet’s entry will be immediately nullified, and he/she will be banned from the competition.

  • What is your policy on abuse and inappropriate comments?

    Sadly, we do get abuse either via SMS, Facebook and email from time to time. We have a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and hateful comments and will take steps to ban/remove anyone who engages in such anti-social behaviour from our social media channels. In extreme cases we may consider legal action.

  • Why don’t you use a Facebook voting system?

    We believe using a Facebook voting system would open us and our monthly Cute Pet SA participants up to increased abuse and limit our ability to manage votes fairly. Unfortunately, it is common for people to open fake or ‘dummy’ Facebook accounts and use these to solicit or purchase votes. For now, we will only use Facebook to communicate with current and future participants.

  • How do I remove my pet from the competition?

    To remove your pet from the Cute Pet SA competition please log in to your dashboard. Click on the 3 dots on the pet you wish to remove. Select 'Delete'. Your pet will be removed from the competition.

  • My question hasn’t been answered here

  • Why has our entry been paused?

    In order for our competition to be fair and give pets an equal opportunity to take part; pets who have 50,000+ votes will be paused until the last 7 days of the competition. Your pet will then be made active and can continue to vote without any restrictions.
